Denae Budde is a California native with more than 25 years of experience in real estate and business. Denae serves clients legal needs from business formation, real estate transactions as well as efficiently resolving litigation matters. Denae has tried over fifty cases to verdict including a multi-million dollar insurance coverage trial. Denae’s extensive trial experience, uniquely equips her to assess how real estate transactions, and business contracts will be evaluated and handled in a dispute. Denae has expertise in handling appeals in both Federal and State courts, including oral argument.

Denae provides clear and concise counsel to her clients along with the potential cost and consequences of certain decisions. Whether negotiating and drafting real estate agreements from acquisition documents, financing documents or leases, Denae evaluates the client’s goals and provides the most cost effective options.   In handling business matters from entity formation or business agreements including owner buy-outs, Denae focuses on her client’s goals. Clients rely on Denae for their transactional and litigation needs. Denae serves as outside general counsel for several business and non-profits. She holds the AV “Preeminent” rating by Martindale-Hubbell.

Denae is a member of the Contra Costa County Bar Associate including the real estate, business and women’s sections. She has served on the Board of Directors for CCCBA and has been an Affiliate Governor on the Board of California Women Lawyers and Past President of the Contra Costa County Women’s Section. Denae has been a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI) Insurance Law Committee and Women in the Law Committee. She has also been a member of the Contra Costa County chapter of the Robert G. McGrath Inn of Court. Denae graduated from the University of Santa Clara in 1993 and was a Comments Editor of the Computer and High Technology Law Journal. After earning her master’s in education from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1986, she taught elementary school before attending law school. Denae also received her bachelor’s degree from UCLA in 1985.

Denae has presented on real estate, business and insurance matters as well as having authored articles on those subjects. Most recently she presented on “The Pros and Pitfalls of Binding Arbitration in California” and also gave a presentation on
“What’s Your Fiduciary Duty-A Comparison of Partnerships, LLCs, Corporations and Board Members.”

Denae was born in Mountain View, California and is married with three adult children.
